Neko Case's voice is enchanting. There are few better words to describe it and no more really neccesary. She is arguably the best of the new age Patsy Clines and with each trip into the studio takes a chunk out of any doubt there may be.
Shes a psuedo-Canadian, by way of Virginia and Washington, and a member of the indietastic Canadian outfit The New Pornographers, as well as the more rootsy Sadies, who I considered including in this post before my laziness got the better of me. holy run-on sentence
Her 2006 release, Fox Confessor Brings the Flood, is the only thing Ive heard this year that I'd describe as "beautiful".
