When a heart bleeds itself inside out Daniel Johnston is a genius. Like someone smarter than me once said,"Insanity and Genius are two sides of the same street." Johnston has poured his mélange of mental illnesses into his art and its been coming out gold for years. Theres not much I could say that would do him justice.
The Devil and Daniel Johnston, a documentary detailing his story so far, opens in limited release today. It may be the only movie i pay for this year if i can get to a damn theater thats showing it.
Hes got two releases this year. One collaboration with Jack Medicine that came out this week, and a solo effort coming out the third week of April. only two albums i pay for this year? heh probably
